RE: Movies: Feast or Famine

Depp and Damon are definitely two actors who seem to be good both at choosing their movies and then acting in them. Ninth Gate with Depp and that fine American actor Frank Langella was a great movie. A bit of a horror movie, so not to everyone's taste. Depp is slated to be in a movie version of Dark Shadows the gothic soap opera of many years ago. Should be another interesting work. Dark Shadows...the movie Your favored director , Tim Burton is the man behind the bullhorn on this one.;) :h I've missed seeing the Ninth Gate. Will have to look for it at the video store. Oohhh, a new Dark Shadows movie. I've watched the 70s movie on Chill channel a couple of times, but I think the Depp/Burton one will blow the other out of water. :C Darn, lesmore, I LOVE your movie posts!!! You ARE the Movie Guru on RV.net...and much more on target than Ebert and pals. :)

RE: Clear and cool... really cool

My perfect temperatures are 70 degree days and 50 degree nights. The weather in central Indiana has been great this week. The light cool breeze is a welcome change from the heat and humidity of summer and last week's vacation.

RE: Movies: Feast or Famine

lesmore, awesome movie news!!! Thanks for that and the links. :C:C:C A Pirates Of The Caribbean 4!!! I'm speechless...but fortunately can still type :B. A fourth movie is beyond comprehension since Depp didn't seem interested in doing sequels before POTC came along. Figured he'd be chomping at the bit to be in contract through one, two, and three, but to re-up for another, surprising but happy to see he's able and willing to do another one. A person on one of the posts in the links said they'd like to see Geoffery Rush join the cast. I'd agree! Loved his character and performance, so it'd be fun to watch him again. Doing the happy dance about the fourth Bourne movie! :) Not so happy about the Angels and Demons movie news, though it was to be expected. :( Not surprised to see he was brought back for the next film, but I didn't care for Tom Hanks in the first movie. Will catch the movie when it comes to video store or pay per view rather than see it on the big screen. Burton, Depp, and Bonham-Carter together again. I'm so there even though it's Alice in Wonderland. Lone Ranger movie. That will be different. :@ Cloud Dancer, I think I saw a picture for Appaloosa in a newspaper or magazine recently. I thought Ed Harris and Viggo Mortensen looked like they could be brothers. You're right, the film has an amazing cast.

RE: It starts tonight !!!..Waiting on night II

Steve, thank you. We watched the show last night, but hubby and I still couldn't come up with who had been voted out. Hard to believe I forgot about Kim K. since I thought she'd done a good job the first and second show. I totally agree with you about Cloris. We were surprised to see her last night. I had to look away when they did that crab-like move. It wasn't a classy move when they did it in rehearsal and it sure shouldn't have been done in front of the judges, audience, and viewers. Her professional dance partner, what were you thinking??? My fingers are crossed in hopes Cloris is the one to leave tonight...with some dignity still in tact.

RE: Your favorite Fall drive and why ?

•Driving around Parke County, Indiana during the annual Covered Bridge Festival which runs for a couple of weeks each October. Why - Trees changing to glorious golds and reds, around thirty covered bridges to walk over, drive over, or just look at, creeks to splash around in. LOTS of people enjoying the sights, smells, food, and sounds of crafts, products, yard sales, and flea market booths. •A couple of trips through the Smoky Mountains. Why - LOTS of hills covered with trees turning colors.

RE: Movies: Feast or Famine

"The Women" - love this ensemble cast! "Nights in Rodanthe" - Nicolas Sparks at his best! "An American Carol"- One reason only, Trace Adkins is in it! No other reason, I'm going to the early matinee for $5. I hadn't heard of "An American Carol". Several years ago we saw Trace Adkins in concert. I'll have to look for this movie. CatandJim, a perfect ladies day out - awesome! Have fun. I think you and rwmmdj will like "The Women". A friend and I went to it the other day. My jaw dropped seeing all the big names in it. Very fun to watch them. Les, a new Bourne movie?!?!:E Spill it, kid! :B What do you know, who's in it, and most importantly when:@ I've seen a new book (at least I think it's a new book and not a reprint) in the Bourne series. Wonder if the movie is about that one or a previous? You got me on that, choose between Daniel Craig's Bond or Matt Damon's Bourne, and I'll have to go with Damon/Bourne. Ah, such choices ;) (sigh).

RE: Survivor: Gabon Africa starts tonight 9/25

Yeah it was her shoes. :B That's what she was saying. Yeah whatever. Speaking of shoes... I always have to wonder why these people who are going to be "survivors" dress the way they do. I mean they know they are going on the show, they know where they are going and yet some of them choose to dress that way? :h I'm thinking if I were going I would dress in layers, have a bathing suit underneath, wear the most comfortable athletic shoes I owned, and maybe even put on a couple of extra undergarments as well as socks. I know that the first day out might not be comfortable dressed that way but the extra clothes would certainly be handy later on. I know, I know.... the young ones with great bodies want to show them off, but for pete's sake the right clothes would be an advantage. My every day garb is...............levi's, tanktop, mocassins & carry my bowie survival knife (with compass & magnifying glass).........................heeheehee..............:B:B:B Mountain Jack, have you given any thought to trying out for Survivor? One of my favorite players of all time in the game of Survivors, was Rupert. Tie dyed shirts, long hair, bearded, rough and tumble, lovable Rupert.:) I think he was one of the favorite players of that game even if he didn't win in the end. His fans loved him, so if I remember right, they gave him $100,000. Not bad for a month of camping with skimpy dressed girls, right?:W Barb I know! What the heck was with the sundresses? Suits and ties? My SO wonders if they called them to a "meeting" and then just put them on a plane so they didn't know they were heading out and went in their work or summer type clothes. It makes sense and sounded logical so maybe that's why the suits, ties, nothing sundresses and 10 pound shoes? :h Your SO's explanation for the inappropriate clothing makes sense. But I'd think the contestants would have caught on a long time ago to tricks such as that. Barb mentioned Rupert. Didn't that season wear street clothing on the opening show? If it wasn't Rupert's first season, another one. I seem to remember a dress and suits in the past.

Movies: Feast or Famine

Does it seem to you that movies that interest you come in droves, then there's a drought where you'll step in to a movie house again? Sure feels that way to me sometimes. Lucky for my chick-flick lovin' heart there's a feast going on. Yes! What, if any, movies are in theaters now or in the near future you're wanting to go see?

RE: iPod Help

I have a Zune 80GB. So far I like everything about it except the program runs multiple processes on its own on the computer, even though I don't have the Zune plugged into the computer and not updating or downloading anything. The more processes that run, the slower my computer is :M :(.
